As
an avid, long-time knitter, I have been frustrated
trying to quickly find quality patterns for new
projects. There are hundreds of pattern magazines
and books on my shelves, as well as individual
patterns. I am fortunate to also have several
fabulous local yarn shops nearby. All of these
patterns, however, are just the tip of the iceberg
and designers continue to excite us with more new
patterns everyday! Searching for “that special
pattern” had become an extraordinarily
time-consuming and often exasperating part of
knitting for me.
Before
the big trend, my daughter asked me to knit her a
poncho. When I asked what style she wanted, she
responded, “You have so many pattern books and
magazines, just look for one you think I’ll like.”
Several hours later, after going through piles of
patterns without much luck, I decided to try the
Internet, fully expecting to find thousands of
patterns. Alas, what I was looking for did not exist
on any one site.
After
almost 50 years of knitting and crocheting, I
decided to create “that one site”, a place to find
an easily searchable collection of fabulous
patterns. I know that, as a knitter, shopping at The
Knitting Vault will mean that searching for patterns
will no longer be a chore, but rather a part of the
joyful and creative knitting process.
I
hope that you enjoy your shopping experience. Please
let me know if you have any comments or suggestions
about how we can improve the site. If you know of
other designers whose work you enjoy but are not
currently listed, click here to let them know about
The Knitting Vault or email
me and I will contact them directly.
Thanks
and welcome to The Knitting Vault.
