 Q.
What
is The Knitting Vault?
The Knitting Vault (TKV) is an online
compendium or organized collection of
knitting and crochet patterns.
Included patterns will be creative,
classic and trendy, offering customers
the finest choice of downloadable
patterns.
Q.
What services does The Knitting Vault
provide?
The Knitting Vault will host
the site, maintain the site, pay for all
advertising and provide technical
support to designers and customers
regarding PDFs.
Q.
Who decides which patterns are included?
The Knitting Vault will make that
decision. Designers will be advised of
all decisions quickly.
Q. Are patterns
exclusive?
No. Designers retain
copyright and may sell their patterns
wherever they wish; however, the price
you establish for your patterns on The
Knitting Vault must be the same or less
than it is sold for elsewhere.
Q.
How long are patterns on site?
Patterns will remain on The Knitting
Vault indefinitely, at the discretion of
TKV. Should designers wish to withdraw
any or all of their patterns, they would
make the request in writing and their
patterns would be removed within 30
days.
Q.
How are pattern prices established?
Designers will set their own
prices, which will never be changed
without the designer’s written request
or permission.
Q. Fees
Fee sharing will be 60% for
The Knitting Vault and 40% for the
designer.
Q. When will designers be
paid?
Designers will be paid
monthly for sales of $25 USD or more and
quarterly for sales of less than $25 USD.
Q. How will
The Knitting Vault be marketed?
The Knitting Vault will be
purchasing, on an ongoing basis,
placements on the most popular search
engines to insure that whenever
customers search on relevant keywords,
they find The Knitting Vault among the
top searches. Additionally, TKV will be
doing other print and online
advertising, as required.
Q.
What is PDF?
Portable Document Format
(PDF) is a type of formatting that
enables files to be viewed on a variety
computers regardless of the program
originally used to create them. PDF
files retain the "look and feel" of the
original document with special
formatting, graphics, and color intact.
PDF files are readable with Adobe
Acrobat Reader, an application that can
be downloaded AT NO CHARGE. Click button
below.

Q. Who
creates the PDFs for The Knitting Vault?
Once designers submit all of the
pattern files, The Knitting Vault will
add a watermark to discourage copying
and convert them to PDF. See
Submission Guidelines for more
information.
Q.
Who provides technical support?
The Knitting Vault will
provide technical support to designers
and purchasing customers for downloading
and for all purchase information.
Q.
What is The Knitting Vault’s position on
copyright?
The Knitting Vault and its owner, Fredda Peritz,
respect copyright and its importance,
both ethical and financial, to designers. See
Copyright
